Description

The writing is classic Holly Bourne. Funny, witty and very engaging. The characters are great too. Holly does a great job at writing teenagers. As I said earlier, another common misunderstanding people have about soulmates is that our soulmates are romantic relationships. In reality, a soulmate can be a lover, but it can also be a sibling, a friend, a parent, a child, and even a co-worker. and when one of them meets the other half, the actual half of himself, whether he be a lover of youth or a lover of another sort, the pair are lost in an amazement of love and friendship and intimacy and one will not be out of the other's sight, as I may say, even for a moment...” Thank you to St. Martin's Press and NetGalley who provided me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All the thoughts and opinions are my own. Christina Lauren blurbed this as "the perfect childhood friends-to-lovers story" and I agree. This YA novel was cheesy, light-hearted and so much fun — exactly how I like my K-drama books and shows!

However, from a human level, that might not seem as clear. For example, a soulmate could abandon you and that could seem like a hurtful thing. However, from a soul’s perspective, that abandonment might be what you need to realize that you are stronger than you thought you were. From a soul’s perspective that soulmate gave you a great gift, while from your human pespective, the soulmate simply caused you great pain. here’s a new title: two insufferable people who are nowhere near soulmates AND who aren’t even in seoul for 99% of the storyline. they’re in san diego. By separating, twin flames can evolve faster though the intention remains to eventually unite again. No, this doesn’t mean that you are walking around as half a person. Rather, both flames are whole and when they eventually unite, they will evolve even further. Not only does the twin flame connection benefit one another, but when twin flames reunite, they work to raise the vibration of the world. the best part is: hannah justifies it by saying she was lonely and basically hints that it’s all because jacob left her to go to korea. girl?? if you’re lonely, WATCH NETFLIX FOR CRYING OUT LOUD. TAKE A STROLL THROUGH THE PARK. don’t go out with someone who gave your best friend hell?! that’s the bare minimum. This is the third Sally Hepworth I've read, and now that I have my expectations set correctly, I've really come to enjoy her stories and writing style. Whenever I want a family drama with a dash of suspense mixed in, she's definitely an author I reach for. Hallelujah … the men weren’t perfect by any means, but they also weren’t written as complete cretins for once! Gabe and Max - Amanda’s husband - both had their issues, but there was at least some depth to them and a rationale behind their behavior. It happened just like any other day, with the sun rising. It happened when I was in the midst of book strolling in one of my favorite bookstores when I crossed paths with Soulmates. I was not fascinated with the cover but I was curious with the title. The title caught my attention from afar because it reminded me of someone. Then I held it in my hands and turned it around and the sypnosis captured my attention even more:

Rose quartz. This crystal is known for promoting love. It opens up the heart chakra and is often worn by those who are hoping to attract love into their lives. Spending a little time with rose quartz can help to open you up to attracting new people into your life, including soulmates. Some may choose to wear jewelry that has rose quartz. Others might place a cluster of rose quartz in their home where it can influence their energy over time. Definitely recommend Seoulmates for those who are looking for a lighthearted YA contemporary romance with a dash of k-drama vibes! to be fair, here are the reasons to read this book: yes, it is cheesy, but if you like cheesy, there's a wonderful scene by the beach where Hannah does what several years of therapy should do in like one conversation with her mom. I'd say I almost cried, but actually my allergies are acting up and my eyes have been watering all day. and of course, cheesy romance. probably similar to the k-dramas it is trying to emulate. I've never seen a k-drama, so I cannot say whether or not it succeeds.

I am not a k-drama fan (which I need to improve on) but I loved the insights into the acting world. How fame is so important you create fake relationships and make sure fans are happy.

If I could have read this in one sitting I would have done so but I needed to sleep and life can't stop just because I don't want to put a book down. The mostly short chapters each had me wanting to keep on going to the next one. It was a bit of a brain twister as I tried to put the characters at the right place in time during the chapters taking place in the past but this is one book where I kind of enjoyed the challenge. The various times in the past mixed with the present day added to the mystery in a way that I didn't find frustrating. Learning to recognize your soulmates and appreciate those relationships can do wonders in helping you to evolve purposefully throughout your life. Enter Poppy, the 17-year-old cynic with a serious addiction to banana milk, and Noah, the heart-throb guitarist; residents of mediocre Middletown, sometime students, and…soulmates. I feel guilty for saying this (and yet I didn’t feel an ounce of guilt whaling on Parisa earlier this year smh*) but I just didn’t feel invested in anything that was happening. This is one of those dreaded purgatory books, where nothing is overly wrong, but not really right either. Like, the plot was fine. The characters were fine. The romance had some sweet highs. It’s definitely a book I’d recommend to people who enjoy a cute romance!Overall, this is a fun and adorable YA contemporary which gives you an insight into the Korean culture and the world of k-dramas.

Please someone tell me the planet that exists where parents of two young, curious children buy a cliffside home with a bonus window view of occasional suicide attempts? WHAT? WHY? My brain can’t process this level of stupid. still a cute and light story, though. and it has a good message, so its easy to recommend for someone wanting a fun, yet simple, reading experience. I've just re-read what I've written and it's oh-so disjointed. That's how I feel after reading the book though. If I'd started writing this half-way through reading it, you would have had a paragraph (at least) about the power of true love and stuff like that, but I don't think I can do that now. Poppy and Noah's romance is incredible, wonderful and beautiful to read. But. There is a But. I just can't say what it is. Sorry. Read it if you're feeling brave, and love it for its beauty. I'll definitely read whatever Bourne has to offer next, but if it's too much like Soulmates I will probably want to pour a banana milkshake over her head. Also, banana? bleugh. This. THIS is why I don't read contemporary novels. At one point, I put this book down in frustration and screamed "What is the plot?!"It's been a long time since i read a straight YA book with no fantasy or no teetering on the edge of New adult. Gabe and Pippa Gerard have two young daughters and now live in a cottage on a cliff located in a sleepy coastal town outside Melbourne. They've lived in a lot of houses during their short marriage and Gabe's had a lot of jobs since Pippa has known him. Now lawyer Pippa is supporting the family and Gabe is the primary child minder in the family. Things seem to be going well for them, especially since Gabe seems to have found his calling. Their cliff is known as a jump off place for those who don't want to live anymore and since they've lived in this cottage, Gabe has talked seven people out of jumping. He's in the papers and the townspeople know him for being a hero who saves lives. September 2013 Debut of the MonthIntroducing Poppy, 17-year-old cynic, and Noah, heart-throb guitarist: residents of mediocre Middletown, sometime students and…soulmates. After a chance meeting at a local band night, Poppy and Noah find themselves swept up in a whirlwind romance unlike anything they’ve ever experienced before. But with a secret international agency preparing to separate them, a trail of destruction rumbling in their wake, (and a looming psychology coursework deadline), they are left with an impossible choice between the end of the world, or a life without love… First off, let me just say that if you don’t believe in reincarnation, you’re probably going to have a hard time buying into the idea of soul groups. So you may just want to stop reading this article right now. However, if you believe in past lives, then this may be a concept that you can get with. When analyzing a soulmate relationship, try to look at it from the persepctive of life lessons. Ask yourself what life lessons you learned from the soulmate experience, and you’ll find it easier to appreciate that soulmate regardless of the circumstances of the interaction. If a soulmate has hurt you…
