That means it's time for another high-action, character-infused series within the realm of Kick-Ass. Hopefully the next few issues the book will slow down a little bit and be allowed more room to breathe. Do note the effects and transparencies added on a cigar’s smoke over the last few pages: it has a sense of volume and shade that is mesmerizing for something so mundane.

This series is trapped in a weird middle ground between grounded superhero drama and wacky, violent romp. The initial pages showing Patience’s last tour in Afghanistan are intense, with helicopter and car chases mixed with gunfight: it moves forward at an incredible pace and readers will want to revisit those moments to capture all the details on a second reading. No missing or damaged pages, no creases or tears, no underlining or highlighting of text, and no writing in the margins. is on top form as per usual with some phenomenal action sequences, whether that’s the flashback to Patience and her unit in Afghanistan or Patience as Kick-Ass taking down the local crime mob – it’s like you can feel all of the punches and kicks!makes sure the reader knows that this would be exactly what would happen if it were to happen down the street. on Wolverine — Millar brought the same fast-paced and cleverly constructed plots with which his Ultimate fans were already familiar. Paired with industry heavyweights to draw his stories — Terry Dodson on Marvel Knights Spider-Man and John Romita Jr. Like Doctor Who, Spider-Man, or the Flash, the hope is that Patience takes inspiration from the character of Kick-Ass and what he stood for, and creates another aspect to that legacy by taking on the mantle and continuing the fight for justice.

The original “Kick-Ass” volumes (and its parallel series, “Hit-Girl”) have always been about ordinary people entering the fray of extreme violence, for reasons that are far more linked to real-world scenarios and themes rather than impossible, supernatural justifications. s art has never felt been disproportionate to the extremes that can be seen in many titles, so his approach is perfect.

Lately, I've noticed he seems to reserve his more meticulous, focused and deliberate work for creator-owned projects such as Kick-Ass, whereas his linework on splashier corporate comics is a lot looser. What follows that sequence are much calmer scenes back in the US, where Romita shows his skills to keep interest high with what are essentially talking heads, commutes and backyard pool conversations.

Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item.Overall, as impressive as it looked, I cant shake the feeling that this was another story first and a Kick-Ass continuation second.

It’s been four years since David Lizewski hung up the wet suit to settle down with his girlfriend and join the NYPD, and I don’t know about you, but I’ve really missed this ultra violent universe! The new Kick-Ass abandons nerdy high schooler Dave Lizewski in favor of Patience Lee, a recently discharged military veteran struggling to support her family.Introducing us to our brand new Kick-Ass and what causes her to go down this path of vigilantism, the creative team form the basis for what could easily become another smash hit. This is a brand new (though familiar) world for Kick-Ass, and hopefully this new take on the universe and a new home at Image comics proves successful for Patience.
