About this deal

Ratchet pipe bender - Ratchet pipe benders look much different to other pipe benders as they use a lever to 'push' the pipe into shape. Their smaller form factor makes them great for jobs where space is limited, and their crossbow-like design makes them excellent for bending pipes that are already attached to the wall. The Monument Masters 1215K, 1315XVE (replacing the 1315Longarm ), 1222G and the 1322Extended Pipe Bender are #MadeInBritain. First models of the new pipe bender were designed and 3D printed in the engineering suite at Monument. We standardised the handle diameters for both sizes. Before you remove the pipe from the Former, view your bend angle; remove the pipe if it is correct, or if necessary, reapply the Lever Arm and increase the bend angle. Free standing pipe bender - Free standing pipe benders are the biggest, most robust type of bender for heavy duty applications. They stand upright on their own stand, giving users the ability to use both hands - providing the strength required to bend heavy pipes. The Monument 2600K 15mm and 22mm is a best selling pipe bender. These are available in Monument brand widely available across the UK from plumbers merchants and e-tailers MON2600 2600K, Instinct® brand INST2600 from PHG independent plumbers merchants and also from UKPS plumbers merchants including Plumbase under Entity® brand ENT2600. When initially launched on the UK market Monument ensured that the hook stop was redesigned so as to not mark the pipe.

Degree - Most pipe benders bend to a 90 degree angle, however some bend to 180 degrees and beyond for specialist jobs. Consider the bending degree required for your jobs when choosing a pipe bender. The primary function of a pipe bender is to bend pipes. Simply insert a pipe into the tool, then close the levers to carefully bend the pipe to the correct angle. Pipe benders work by enclosing the pipe around a hard 'shoe'. The user then pulls the level as necessary to pressure the pipe into forming a perfect bend around the shoe. Actually they both have their place because they do quite different things. Draw bending is for fairly tight curves, typical of most engineering applications, while roll bending is for large radius curves often found in furniture or architectural work.

Diameter - Similar to the degree, ensure your pipe bender can accommodate the size of pipe you work with.

MODEL 326 RATCHET BENDER

We have also designed bending arm extension handles to increase the leverage for bending both 15mm 22mm copper pipe. These short threaded extension handles code 1224M fit both the 15mm XV XVE & XVL and 22mm XXII versions. One or more extension handles can be added for additional leverage. If you need a very gentle curve, ie a large radius of curvature, then draw bending ceases to be feasible since the size of the tooling (and the machine to mount it on) becomes prohibitive. This is where roll bending, sometimes called push bending, comes into play. The 2600K includes 15mm and 22mm aluminium guides. These guides are available as spares;15mm 2601N and 22mm 2603T. These guides also fit Irwin® and Hilmor® GLM.

We often see drawings that require two different bend radii that are, in reality, so similar that the difference would be almost unnoticeable; why would you design a tube with one bend radius of 70 mm and another of 75 mm? But people do. If you design with multiple radii only do it if you really need to!We have included bending angles of 30 45 60 and 90 degrees on the XV and XVL 15mm versions and an additional 75 degree angle on the 22mm version; these are easily visible on the Former of each bender. The standard finish of the benders is a bright zinc plate on the Arms with rumbled aluminium Former and Lever castings. We will also be making available special editions with different finishes to the castings. Some of the Monument Masters have received laser etched and polished castings which look fantastic! Differences compared to a combi bender Some thin wall (relative to diameter or material specification) tubing is liable to collapse when bent and with a draw bending process (in contrast to compression bending) it is possible to support the tube at the point where the bending is taking place by inserting a mandrel down the centre of the tube. For this reason draw bending is sometimes referred to as mandrel bending. Roll Bending

Compression tube bending, is akin to bending a copper pipe around your knee; you are holding one end of the tube stationary and forming the tube into shape around the former (in this case your knee). The next step up is a simple manual pipe bending tool, a type often used by plumbers for copper tube. To produce more complex multi-bend components, for small diameter tube where it is possible to bend it manually, hand bending jigs use compression bending. Some quite elaborate shapes can be produced. If you need larger radius bends then push or roll bending could be the solution and the minimum radius that is really feasible with that is; There is no maximum limit to the radius from roll bending, except of course leaving the tube straight, which is the same as an infinite bend radius! less fiddly– with the integrated hook and nylon guide, your hook stop won’t flop from side to side and the guide(s) won’t fall out

Pipe benders are used to bend metal pipes - such as stainless steel and copper pipes - to form a range of curves and angles. The 15mm 22mm pipe bender or tube bender is an essential part of the toolkit for any heating or plumbing engineer. A. Pipe wall size is a lot thinner than it used to be, plus the pipe bender former could be stiff (Answered by D S plumbing and heating on 26 Jan 2021) The nylon guides are integral to the pipe bender helping to ensure they don’t get lost or damaged in a toolbag. Codes for these spare guides are 1216N 15mm Spare Nylon Guide and 1223J 22mm Spare Nylon Guide.
