Description

Contains a bonus DVD disc ‘The Madness of Max’, behind-the-scenes making od the film that started it all. When several of them take his appearance as a sign and go off into the desert, he follows them back to the town.

It's visually striking choreography of live-action stunts seamlessly blended with CG wizardry, and it's sometimes difficult to tell the difference where one begins and the other ends. The UHD edition is further fueled by the same trio of lossless DTS-HD MA soundtracks and a strong set of supplemental material, which includes a few new surprises. There is, however, a bonus DVD in the set with the acclaimed two and a half hour The Madness of Max 'making of' documentary on it, which interviews everyone and leaves no stone unturned on the production of the feature; it more than makes up for the packaging.Watching Furiosa and Max interact at the beginning of the film, and then watch their characters form a bond under the heat of battle. Essentially a remake of the climax of the second film, Fury Road, is one of the finest action films ever made. I was stoked beyond belief when I heard a new Mad Max film was coming to the big screen, and even more excited with Tom Hardy as the lead character. It's short of character development, and about as high as you can get on action, with some incredibly well done practical effects by George Miller and crew. When cars explode, debris flies everywhere as though pieces of metal were raining down into the living room.

Plot: In a not-too-distant dystopian future, when man’s most precious resource — oil — has been depleted and the world plunged into war, famine and financial chaos, the last vestiges of the law in Australia attempt to restrain a vicious biker gang. With so much in its favor, 'Mad Max: Fury Road' already steals my vote for the best action movie, if not the most satisfying film, of the year. Dialogue is natural sounding and whilst held to the frontal array is given the odd moment of directionality but unfortunately is occasionally a bit low in the mix. Also, despite contrast looking pretty good, a majority of the video noticeably runs hot, so much so that large portions of the picture and several action sequences appear distractingly exaggerated. Vernon Wells as Wez is maybe my favourite villain of the franchise as he is just so unhinged that he makes you feel constantly on edge any time he is on screen.

It is still a significant improvement and will be a better viewing experience, but with this new format, we are looking for more than just sharpness and resolution. A lot of the violence in this movie is implied (including rape) and it works so much better as the imagination can be even worse than actually seeing it; there is some spectacular carnage here with exceptional stunts and the low budget gives it extra grit. We’re proud to promote an environment that allows for discourse benefiting everyone (newcomers to the experienced) and owners of all levels of gear (affordable to the high-end) while encouraging open and friendly conversation.
