Description

There are also two new Territories the Chaos Dreadhold and Chaos Wastes. The upgraded Dreadhold gives you D6 Glory any time you upgrade your Stronghold or Territory, pretty mundane but the Wastes are interesting. You can ally in 2 Daemon units (or 4 when upgraded). Naturally you can only have one of these at any given time but this actually is an interesting idea with some interesting and flexible gameplay mechanics. More stuff like this! Heroic Upgrades

The paralyzing edge is a nice touch too, given you can use this to punch an absolute hole in an enemy threat and also prevent it from even being able to move.A bonus to mention is the Warcry Cultists which used to be ignored but saw a slight improvement in Broken Realms: Morathi with an ability to gain Marks of Chaos in a specific subfaction which didn’t quite get them there. They finally crossed the finish line in White Dwarf which finally made them battleline if the mark matches your General which makes Iron Golemsand Spire Tyrants notable when marked with Nurgle and Khorne, respectively. Other Units Chaos Chariot ( Gorebeast Chariot) - Chaos Chosen - Chaos Knight - Chaos Marauder ( Horseman - War Mammoth) - Chaos Warrior - Chaos Warshrine - Fomoroid Crusher - Mindstealer Sphiranx - Ogroid Theridon The warband’s ability to damage the enemy is very tethered to Crits on most units. However, should your Crits pop off they will end the game. This “all-in” playstyle summarizes the Splintered Fang to a T, they want all of their fighters fighting from Turn 1, and they want to stay fighting in as many activations as possible. Monsters play the game somewhat differently to normal models, activating three times during the turn for one action each time. This means they get three opportunities to use abilities, and each monster has access to their own abilities as well as generic abilities. However your opponent gets access to several monster hunter abilities, the most obnoxious of which is Binding Ropes, which is a double and can reduce your monster to a 3” movement for the rest of the game depending on how many 4+s they can roll.

The Pit Veteran with options can also be built with a metallic visor instead of the regular face, which looks really cool but doesn’t affects its statistics. Emulating the Venombloods, these warriors have dipped the spikes of their shields in lethal venom. An anvil as good as any to have the enemy break on, these warriors are usually the first thing enemies of the Splintered Fang whet their blades on. This complexity is fantastic if you like a challenge and want to show your mastery of the game’s systems, but it also makes the Spire Tyrants a warband that’s difficult to recommend for beginners. Slaves to Darkness are the successor to Warriors of Chaos from Warhammer Fantasy Battles and are more or less intact to their original version. The majority of the models are just Warriors of Chaos, with Archaeon the Everchosen and a Start Collecting with some new chaos warriors. The older models have held up surprisingly well standing next to the the newer stuff and the diversity grants a fair bit of flexibility in list building. This sets them apart from the rest of the Warcry Chaos warbands, since they don’t worship a shamanistic symbol of Chaos. The Spire Tyrants know what they’re dealing with, and calls themselves the Chosen of Archaon himself.Like all of the chaos warbands that are not “borrowed” from Age of Sigmar, they have a dedicated warband box. The fur was highlighted with Administratum Grey and then with a mix of Administratum Grey and Pallid Wych Flesh. You’re going to need to choose if you want to build with or without Archaon The Everchosen because he’s extremely expensive. At almost half your list he can pull his weight but you need to build around him. You might see some people online say he got worse, I’d argue he isn’t that much worse, he was just taken down a peg in other Chaos factions where he got to break mechanics over his knee (namely, Tzeentch). He used to be able to join any mono-god faction due to having all the keywords and now the rules have changed around him so he really only gets to shine in Slaves to Darkness. Honestly, I think its the right move for the sake of balance. You will almost always be using a different ability like Poisoned Weapons or Paralysing Venom, because this Leader can’t afford to end a turn with models near it alive. There are fun alternatives like Hosts of the Everchosen if you want to run a hyper elite army of Archaon with all Varanguard. You do have options.
