Defeat it to gain your second Deathrootand the Skeletal Militiamen Ashes, which will enable a discussion with D, Hunter of the Dead at the Roundtable Hold(you may also find him instead near the Summonwater Village Outskirts grace west of here if you didn't reachthe Hold yet). FromSoftware built systems to facilitate cooperation. There’s no prize for doing it all yourself. You won’t get a medal for making an already notoriously difficult game even more difficult. Ask for help — at the very least, you’ll distract enemies so that they fight others instead of you. It can be tempting to race along the open world and bypass enemies you find on your way towards the next big dungeon, but remember that fights you bypass will mean less runes to level up, and less items gained to use when things really get challenging. Stop to smell the flowers - so to speak - and kill everyone you meet to keep gaining runes as you explore. You can now opt to follow the road south and east to visit and complete Redmane Castle, or go north toward the swamp and explore Sellia. Elden Ring includes the ability to jump for a reason - use it to explore places you normally couldn't in a Dark Souls game. Many of the areas - especially the Legacy Dungeons, are designed with intricate verticality and exploration in mind, and offering multiple avenues to proceed. Use your jumping ability to hop over ledges, drop down to low rooftops, and bypass dangerous areas - you'll never know what secrets you can find.
