I would not change it a bit because that would change the personality and the opening would not be as pretty as it is right now. I've heard some people say that this perfume is very popular with women, but I personally don't like it very much.

All perfumes will change in smell overtime, often becoming denser as the lighter top notes like citrisus and bergamot burn off, alcohol is slowly evaporated, and basenotes combine becoming stronger. Everyone has different skin chemistry and I guess this perfume just works really well on my skin, it lasts about 7-8 hours but after the first 6 it becomes a skin scent, way longer than I assumed it would reading the other reviews. There's a smidgen of creaminess and a hint of powder as it dries down, but for the most part it's super cloying and obnoxious. This opportunistic new-era ideals and their consequent releases make me wonder where the fuck are we going.I won't go into too much detail about the composition, but to my nose it just doesn't smell quite right. The cardamom provides a spicy kick, perfectly complemented by the softness of lavender and the depth of vetiver.

To me, if you can conjure imagery from a scent, then you have accomplished something unique and exceptional. The protagonist of this aromatic tale is undoubtedly the Lavender, lending it a distinct character, making it an impeccable choice for the hallowed halls of your everyday office environment. You wouldn't drink a glass of warm white wine nor an ice-cold glass of red, so why would you wear a blaring loud fragrance in the heat of summer? I would have personally liked it a bit more if they just increased the intensity of the EDT without adding new notes.

During this stage, the fresh lavender from the opening is still in the same level as the cardamon but… you’ll notice it being slowly crushed into a powder form. I was never really interested in YSL but I wore the samples, gave some away, and then I forgot about it. They added the Synthetic Rum dna of 'Wanted By Night' to it, making the dna more cloyingly sweet, and ruining the masterpiece elegance that is in 'La Nuit'.

To me, La Nuit will remain the same power i feel when wearing it, its still an instant love and journey! Instead of just increasing the performance original La Nuit which everyone wants, they added notes that are stronger in scent. Everyone hypes the smell up to being ‘divine’ but to me it smells like a blast of lavender powder with cardamom lurking in the back.

A simple reformulation of the original fragrance to bring it back to it's former glory is all that we want! I'm not sure what kind of wizardry went down in the lab when creating La Nuit de l'Homme, but this is a unique, artistic, and breathtaking masterpiece. Performance on me is average with skin scent projection and 6~8hrs of longevity in room temperature.
